Sometimes it looks more like a hand-painted champagne bottle sitting on your desk after months and months of meetings, conversations, problem-solving and patience.

I can’t share the details just yet, but this is one of those transactions I’ll be thinking about for a long time.

This morning, I had the opportunity to attend the ribbon cutting for the Monroe St. Jude Dream Home.

While I didn't have a role in making this project happen, I was proud to support two friends who did. Congratulations to Sarah Floyd and Jan with Strickland Interiors, along with the many volunteers, sponsors, contractors and community partners who invested their time, talent and resources into something that will make a real difference.

One of the most impactful parts of the morning was hearing from local families whose lives have been touched by St. Jude. It's easy to admire the beautiful home, but the real story is the children and families who receive care, hope and support when they need it most.

Events like this are a reminder of what can happen when a community comes together around a cause bigger than itself. Northeast Louisiana has always been generous, and today was a great example of that in action.
