Once upon a time our Downtown didn’t exist. But then some people with dreams and plans built some buildings, with business spaces on the main level and homes above. 
Through the years many buildings changed ownership, new buildings were built and new businesses came in. Our town grew and our Monroe St Bridge had to accommodate, so the front of some buildings were cut off.
The buildings adapted and life continued on within them.
This building 12 S Monroe st has had a lot of history. From feather bowling to an art galley and banquet hall….and many of us remember it as the Sewing Center. Now it’s ready for a new chapter.
I grew up in our Downtown. My family had a business down here, I went to school at Trinity and Church at St Paul’s.
I was born at the end of what the Boomers say was the thriving era of the down town. And I watch it slowly vacate. And I am so happy to be apart of the regrowth of the Downtown.
I love these old beautiful buildings. And love seeing all of the new businesses coming back into them. I love seeing the business owners supporting each other. And I love seeing people walk around enjoying our town.
It’s a beautiful place to work and live.
All of that said I would love to see another business in this space of ours, retail would be the best suited for the space. So if you are interested please reach out to us!
