The holidays are over and people are already thinking about buying homes and moving again.
After your home inspection completed and if the report finds mold present, I've posted a letter that just may guide some of you in the right direction.


Mold Assessment by IAQ Consultants
In-Door Air Quality Consultants is Southeast Michigan’s and Northwest Ohio's Premier Mold Contracting firm. We perform mold assessments for the EPA, housing authorities, local health departments, medical doctors, home inspectors, schools systems, etc... The mold assessments are performed by a Forensic Environmental Specialist certified by the IAQC, following local, state, and federal guidelines.
Regarding the remediation proposal on your new home and the things to remember are that most other mold remediation contractors do not have the knowledge, equipment, certification, or training to handle these projects properly. Training and certification status is hard to come by in this field and most contractors turn out to be part time remediators who only participated in a 4 hour training course from a testing laboratory (mostly on mold testing, not remediation). You also do not want the homeowner or bank doing the remediation in the house you will be living in! They are not willing to pay a firm who has the proper training, equipment, and knowledge to clean it up properly and in return, usually makes the situation worse by trying to save money.
You are the one who will be living in this house, you deserve to have it done right! You have the right to choose who does the work whether the bank or seller pays for it or takes the money off of the price of the house at closing.
