Congratulations to my wonderful clients on their recent home sale and to the lucky new owners who purchased it! 🎉🎊 🍀 It was an honor to represent the sellers, and I'm grateful to them for not only giving me the opportunity to sell their home but also for trusting my guidance throughout their real estate journey. 🙏 🙌😊

We initially listed the property for sale last October, and less than a week later, mortgage rates skyrocketed above 8%. Given this was the highest level they have been since 2000, it came as no surprise when many buyers dropped out of the market and decided to put their home search on hold.

It was a disappointing start, to say the least. With the lack of buyers' interest and lack of activity from elevated rates, we decided to remove the house off the market and make some adjustments.

Fast forward to late January 2024, and the property is available for sale once again. The first few days of being back on the market, the sellers received a handful of offers above asking price, and as days went by, the number of offers continued to climb.

After a week of showings, we narrowed the choices down to 3 excellent offers based on price, the buyer's financial strength, and their ability to accommodate my clients' needs. Ultimately, the strongest buyer with the overall best offer beat out the highest bidder to win this lovely home. 💪🦾

My first taste of homeownership was from the purchase of this house when my sister and I acquired it in July of 2007. For those who don't recall or were too young to remember the housing market collapse that occurred between 2007-2008, it was one of the biggest mortgage crises in U.S. history and it led our country into a recession that lasted until 2010.

To make a long story short, we foreclosed on the property 12 yrs after purchasing it. It was one of my biggest failures that I was too ashamed to admit until recently.

Thinking back, I didn't pay much attention to the crisis that was unfolding, nor understand the situation until years later. I used to reflect on my mistakes and thought maybe if we had held off on the purchase, things would've been different. But buying this house for our parents and being a homeowner in my 20s was a dream I wanted to achieve badly.

This house taught me a lot about home buying, short sales, and foreclosure processes. But above all, it taught me lessons about life and myself. Instead of being afraid of the missteps and obstacles along the way, I learned to grow from them.

The memories created here were some of the best times I've had, and the knowledge I've gained is worth far more to me than having a perfect credit score. 🙏🙏 As the old saying goes, "The comeback is always greater than the setback." 💯💯🙌
