Congrats to my buyers on winning this beautiful, remodeled home in South San Francisco!

I was first introduced to these clients last September through my lending partner at Chase. Like many analytical buyers in the Bay Area, they approached the process with incredible diligence. From San Francisco to the Midpeninsula, they studied the inventory across nearly eight different cities — combing through listings, reviewing disclosures, then touring homes every weekend. Last month, after returning from an overseas break, they found THE ONE.

They went to the open house on Saturday. We toured together Sunday. By Wednesday evening, we were IN CONTRACT — beating out four other offers, including two significantly higher bids. That’s right: first offer submitted = one and done!

Scam Alert: Homeowners, claim your properties on consumer real estate sites!

I track all the properties where I help clients sell/buy... and fortunately, this practice helped protect one of my clients from an online scam. How??

Last year, I helped my buyers purchase a home in Sunnyvale. At their housewarming party, they were sooo happy to be in their new home. Oddly, the very next day, I received an alert on Zillow indicating their home was FOR RENT. Huh?!? I had just visited them the day prior, and they gave no indication of renting out the home. I texted them immediately...

Turns out, a scammer had posted their home for rent using the owner's name to advertise/field questions on the platform. The real owner contacted Zillow immediately to report fraud, and the rental listing came down promptly. Thankfully, the scam was thwarted this time around. Homeowners: please keep an eye out for online postings featuring your home. Set up your home as a "Favorite" and/or make sure you "claim the home" on popular real estate sites, so you can be alerted of any activity. Be safe!
