🏡 Good news for Alabama home shoppers! Lawmakers are pushing a new bill to fight property title fraud and shady “lowball” offers. If it passes in 2026, buying and selling a home here will be safer, more secure, and harder for scammers to mess with.

Legislation to put more verification requirements on property title transactions in Alabama is expected in the 2026 session.

I've got some Sweet T-worthy news for you. According to a recent article on Realtor.com, Alabama is one of the few states where middle-class families can still afford to buy a home.
With a median household income of around $76,826, you can comfortably afford a home priced up to approximately $310,905. That's just under the state's average home price, meaning you won't have to sell your prized college football memorabilia to make ends meet.

April 27th (TOMORROW) – Runoff Election.
The runoff election for City Council District 3 takes place on April 27th. Our Garden District neighbor Adrienne Larkin (Clanton Avenue), is running to complete the unfinished term of her late husband, Councilman Tracy Larkin, against Marché Johnson. Mrs. Larkin is very familiar with the problems facing our neighborhood and the tools that city government has available.

If you vote in District 3, please don’t forget to go out and vote. The turnout in the primary was very low and your vote will definitely make a difference!

Please make the effort to attend the County Commission meeting:

Tuesday February 11, 2020
at Trenholm Community College
3920 Troy Highway Building “D”
Information Session: 3:30pm
General Meeting: 5pm

Sometimes they meet out in the community in an effort to get more involvement.
The meeting Tuesday February 25th will be back at 101 South Lawrence St.

If we don't get more people to attend the commission is going to move the meeting
back to 8am on Monday morning, and we don't want that to happen.
