🏠 Is the housing market going to crash?
It’s a question I continue to hear — especially from buyers wondering if they should wait for prices to fall.
A recent Yahoo Finance article takes a look at that question.
Buyers are dealing with higher mortgage rates, homes are taking longer to sell in many areas, and inventory has been increasing. In fact, nationally there was a 4.9-month supply of existing homes in August — much closer to what we would consider a balanced market.
But a slower or more balanced market is NOT necessarily a housing crash.
For buyers, increased inventory can mean more choices, less competition, and potentially more negotiating power.
For sellers, it means pricing and presentation matter more than they did when virtually everything was selling immediately.
And remember — real estate is local. National headlines don't always tell you what's happening in your neighborhood. Locally, the supply is a little lower, as a result, median sale prices has continued to increase.
Thinking about buying or selling? Let's look at the numbers and talk about what the market actually means for you.
