The Faith, the Folly (they said), and the Unforgettable First Home. 🏡🙏
Do you all remember a little while ago when I was completely honest and open about my faith and my baptism? (If you missed it, scroll back!)
There’s a lot of old-school advice that says, "As a realtor, never talk about religion or politics." The thinking is, you’ll alienate clients. And you know what? I sat with that. For a minute, I felt the pressure to play it safe.
But then, I had a clarity. A deep, unshakable feeling. I am a woman of strong faith. It is the foundation of who I am. I would never push my beliefs on anyone, but I decided I would no longer hide them. If a client decided not to work with me because of that... that’s okay. We weren't the right match. I have to be authentic to myself to do my best work for others.
And then... something beautiful happened.
A client reached out. Not just any client. A husband and wife, both of whom are Pastors. They’ve spent their entire lives living in ministry, serving the Lord and leading people to Him.
Because of their incredible life of service and living in parsonages (housing provided by their church), they had never owned a home of their own.
Today... TODAY! 🥺 I am so humbled, so overjoyed, and so eternally grateful to say that I got to help them close on their very. first. home. as Doug nears retirement!
The irony and the symmetry are not lost on me. In a world that said "hide your faith," being bold in it is exactly what brought these two amazing people into my life. They have spent their lives guiding people to a spiritual home, and I had the incredible honor of guiding them to their physical home.
To my clients, Doug & Deb: Thank you. Thank you for your lives of service. Thank you for trusting me. Helping you navigate this journey has been one of the greatest privileges of my career. And to anyone else: I've learned that when you stand firm in who you are, the right people will find you. And when they do, magic (and miracles) can happen. CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!!
