Our staff never fails to bring a smile to our residents' faces while at Parkers Bend – and it seems the fun spreads to our residents! This past week, our staff worked hard to bring together an incredible Grand Open House to welcome visitors and celebrate our residents; between the food and the music, we just couldn’t get enough!

Parkers Bend had its second annual carnival – this time bigger and better! Staff led fun carnival games for our residents to play, and residents won raffle tickets for a chance to win some great prizes, thanks to Lorene of Caring Hospice Service! We made sure to stop by Jaida’s face-painting station and get custom designs. Our kitchen staff made funnel cake, mini corndogs, and popcorn for us! What a great way to kick off summer.

Everyone loves the derby, and everyone loves an expertly crafted three-course meal, so why not put the two together? At Parkers Bend, we celebrated Derby season with our Kentucky Derby Banquet! Residents got to try traditional Kentucky-inspired barbecue and enjoy the beautiful decorations lining our dining room with roses! We can’t forget the real stars of the show, our very own wooden race horses made by our residents, showing off their many victories!
