Their home-buying journey began in mid-July with one simple goal: to find a home in a great school district where their children could grow and receive a quality education.

Along the way, they found two homes they liked, and we submitted offers on both. However, after completing the inspections and carefully reviewing everything, they realized that neither home was quite the right fit and decided to continue their search.

The journey had a few bumps, but each experience helped them better understand what they truly wanted in a home.

Eventually, they found the one—a home with the right school district, a great location, and a condition they felt comfortable with. Everything came together just in time, and they successfully closed on August 31, right before the new school year began! 🎉

Buying a home isn’t always about finding the most expensive one or closing as quickly as possible. What matters most is finding a home that the buyers truly love and that feels right for their family.

⚠️ A professional-looking lease agreement doesn’t always mean it’s legitimate.

We recently came across a real situation that we believe is worth sharing.

A family living overseas wanted to secure a rental home before moving to the U.S. They found a listing online, communicated with someone who appeared professional, and even received what looked like an official lease agreement complete with information from a law firm.

Everything seemed legitimate.

They paid the deposit and started preparing for their move.

Just days before they were scheduled to pick up the keys, the “landlord” disappeared.

Phone calls went unanswered. Messages were ignored. After digging deeper, they realized the person never existed.

They arrived in the U.S. only to discover they had no home waiting for them.

Unfortunately, scams like this are becoming increasingly common. Fraudsters often target international students, immigrants, and people relocating from overseas because they cannot view properties in person and may not be familiar with the U.S. rental process.

Before sending any money:
✔️ Use reputable rental platforms.
✔️ Verify the identity of the landlord or licensed real estate agent.
✔️ Don’t rely solely on a lease agreement that looks official.
✔️ When possible, work with a licensed real estate professional.

A few minutes of verification can save you from losing your money—and the stress of arriving in a new country without a place to live.
