Hello and thanks for stopping on my page. I’m just like many of you - a person who wears multiple hats! I work full-time as a Buyer’s Agent on the Barker Team at Keller Williams. I love working with Buyers and helping them find the right home for their needs. I work with first-time buyers, move-up buyers, folks relocating to the Lake Norman area and folks who are down-sizing. And a category I’m seeing more and more are families where one set of parents have moved in with them. Multi-generational living is becoming more popular - sometimes for economic reasons and sometimes to help provide care and support to elderly parents and or families with younger children.

Multi-generational living is something that I am quite familiar with as my in-laws have lived with us since May of 2015. My husband Eric and I are caretakers to his parents, who both have dementia. When they came to live with us, we quickly realized that the layout of our house wasn’t working. We explored building an in-law suite on our property for Eric’s parents, but in the we realized moving was our best option. Being a Realtor made this a bit easier. After a several month search of looking for a home that would accommodate all of us and provide everyone the space and privacy they needed we found the perfect house.

And we have several dogs to consider, and of course needed a yard for them. Charlie is a 9 year old Jack Russell mix; Maggie is a 2 year old energetic, crazy Jack Russell mix; and Rigby is a blind Shih tzu who is between 7-9 years old. We adopted Rigby a year ago from a Rottweiler rescue group when Rigby seemed quite out of place. He was small, quiet and seemed very sad. His eyes had been removed due to neglect from an eye infection. When we met Rigby, Eric and I both knew immediately that we should adopt him and give him a good, loving home where he would feel safe. Of course we had to convince Charlie and Maggie that this was a good idea!

My husband and I have been married almost 30 years. We met in Washington DC and lived in Northern Virginia until November 2005, when we moved to Mooresville. We enjoy the slower pace, the friendly people, the weather (not much snow...yeah!) and of course Lake Norman. I have my Bachelors Degree in Education. My background includes teaching pre-school, being a day care center director, office management and human resources.
