✅ The answer is Newport, NC.

Resale market values in Newport have increased 21% from just a year ago. Morehead City has shown an increase from the past year too, but if you purchased property there in 2024, you may not see that return yet. 🎯

Helping a buyer client with a new construction home is always exciting, and this one is a great reminder of why building can be such a smart option.

This purchase is in Heritage Pointe in Newport, NC, with JC Jackson Homes building the Yorkshire floor plan — just over 2,600 square feet on approximately a quarter-acre lot, all for a price less than any comparable resale home currently on the market in Carteret County.

For buyers who have the time to build, new construction can often mean getting more home for the money, along with the peace of mind that comes with everything being brand new. Modern floor plans, updated finishes, energy-efficient features, and fewer immediate maintenance concerns can make a big difference.

Heritage Pointe also offers a great location in Newport, with convenient access to Morehead City, Beaufort, Cherry Point, area beaches, shopping, dining, boating, and all the things that make Carteret County such a special place to call home.

My dream home has sold... 🌅

Congratulations to the brokerage, KW Crystal Coast and the MCK Team, on this sale. I truly wish I could have been the buyer on this one as it's the epitome of my coastal home vision. The cedar shake siding is the "cedar" in my own brokerage name because I think of the beach houses that stood out to me most as a child. The view of the waterway and bridge looks like many of the canvases I have hanging in my own home, the expansive porches capture even more picturesque vista and of course, no coastal home is complete without a palm🌴 or two.
