These are great for anyone moving to NC, 3 & 9 certainly caught me off guard when I moved here😂😂😂

ADVICE FOR ANYONE MOVING TO NORTH CAROLINA

1. A ride-on mower is considered alternate transportation in a pinch.
2. Weddings are planned around hunting seasons and the ACC tournament.
3. If someone asks for a pack of nabs, they’re referring to the Lance orange square crackers with peanut butter filling.
4. Over yonder stretches from twenty feet to two hundred miles.
5. Bless your heart has numerous meanings.
6. Ranch dressing will be your best friend. And barbecue.
7. Tea is either sweet or unsweet- the latter for newbies.
8. Mountain Dew is a drink, not a soda and if you add vodka, it’s a firefly.
9. If someone offers to “carry you” someplace, they mean to drive you not sling your self over their shoulder.
10. If you hear fireworks on any other days other than July 4th, it’s just your neighbors having a little target practice.
11. You don’t know hot or humidity until August.
12. Roaches are roaches unless in one’s own home- then they are classified as palmetto bugs.
13. A toboggan is a hat, not a sled.
14. Don’t panic if folks ask where you go to church. Just say you’re still visitin’.
15. You will need to learn to “cut” a light off and “get” a shower and “crack” a window.
16. Duke’s mayonnaise is a staple: peanut butter banana sandwiches or slathered on wonderbread with a tomato.
17. “I’m not in charge” is southern speak for “They’re doing it wrong.”
18. No matter how long you live in the south, if you weren’t born there, you’ll always be a Yankee.
19. A proper cake should have a minimum of seven layers.
20. Don’t forget to wave to your neighbors, or other people as you are driving, walking around. We learn who is from here, judging by who waves back.

Bonus: Save bacon grease in the fridge for when you cook greens or beans.
