Some days are century plus old homes and crawlspaces, and that’s manageable. Some days there are some really cool trinkets or antiques in homes, and sometimes creepy ones. And on rare occasions, there are ancient hieroglyphs that are seen. Lucky me! Thanks to these crawlspace sealers for giving me a good laugh!

Reflecting on a successful year of providing thorough, complete and honest home inspections, I am grateful for all the relationships made with realtors across our region and the trust put in me. This year had a handful of slow moments, but we were still able to provide home inspections whenever called upon. When buying a new (to you) home, it can be daunting. There are many terms or phrases thrown out that can be downright confusing. Radon is talked about but seldom understood.

Radon gases are the number one cause for lung cancer in non-smokers and the number two overall cause for lung cancer. These gases are naturally occurring in rock, soil and water, and cannot be seen or smelled. This occurs in news homes as well as old homes, and can only be detected by proper testing.
