⁉️ One thing I get asked frequently is “what are the interest rates right now?” 📈 I also constantly hear “I’ll wait to buy whenever the rates drop some.”

🫣 Here’s the cold hard truth, the market is unpredictable. Rates can change tomorrow and unless you get locked in now, then you are potentially setting yourself up for a higher rate. 🔒Yes, they could potentially drop a bit as well; however, do you want to continue to gamble on that percentage?

I have listed various previous average rates. (Along with the graph below for reference to truly see how unpredictable the interest rates can be.)

June 1976 - 8.90 %
June 1980 - 12.85 %
June 1981 - 16.71 %
June 1986 - 10.62 %
June 1996 - 8.30 %
June 2006 - 6.62 %

Some seem to think the rates are the highest they’ve ever been when truly they aren’t even half that. 🤯

🏠 The best time to buy a house is whenever you are ready, not when the market tells you that you are. For now, focus on the aspects you can control and don’t worry about the ones you cannot.

Now, show of hands, how many people knew that you could get pre-approved with a credit score of 580? 😳

There's so many people that are unaware of the various options that are available when it comes to obtaining mortgage approval. It's not always just black and white, there are options. Each person and situation is different and could potentially be handled differently.

There are also various factors that affect approval or denial. Obviously, credit score, but also debt to income ratio, credit history length, income, job length and down payment availability.
