👻 FREAKY FRIDAY: LOCAL SCARY STORIES 👻
🎓 THE GHOST OF ELIZABETH MOORE HALL
📍 West Virginia University | Morgantown, WV

Thousands of WVU students have walked through Elizabeth Moore Hall over the years…

But according to local legend, one former resident may have never left. 👀

The building is said to be haunted by Elizabeth Moore, former headmistress of the Woodburn Female Seminary, who is remembered in local lore for protecting her students during a Civil War-era raid.

And apparently, Elizabeth still keeps an eye on the place. 👻

Stories surrounding the building claim her spirit has been seen wandering the stairways and appearing throughout the historic hall.

But one of the strangest stories involves the building's portraits…

According to the legend, when portraits were removed from their original locations, they would mysteriously find their way back onto the walls. 😳

And then there's the old basement swimming pool. 🏊‍♀️

Over the years, stories have circulated of a mysterious figure appearing near — and even hovering above — the pool.

A dark basement.
An old swimming pool.
A historic building.
And a ghost who apparently doesn't appreciate redecorating.

That's enough for us. 😂👻
