Sometimes the smallest moments mean the most.

Many people don’t know that my primary job is substitute teaching. This school year, I stepped into a long-term position at a local elementary school here in Morgantown teaching special education for kindergarten and 1st grade.

The most important part of my job is building relationships with my students. When kids feel safe, seen, and cared for, that’s when the real learning begins.✏️Today during small group we did a St. Patrick’s Day themed activity with the sentence starter: “A person I am lucky to know is…”

One of my students, someone I’ve worked hard to build a strong relationship with, wrote my name. It was such a small moment, but one that meant so much. Kids truly see and recognize the love, patience, and care their teachers pour into them every day.

I’m incredibly proud to play even the smallest role in helping guide and raise the next generation! 📚
