(Insert deep breath..) 😮‍💨
A week ago I was fine, encouraging my mom and siblings, it’s time. The best memories were made, now it’s time for the next family to make their memories.

Today, it hit a bit differently. It was the last time we could stake claim to the house our parents lived in, and raised us in, for the last 43 years, now it belongs to someone else.

As we took our last family photo there, (missing a couple sibs), I took it all in, I could see the kickball games we played, the bike rides around the block, the Easter egg hunts, night games, and the countless family gatherings our sweet mama hosted multiple times a year, for years, inviting anyone who didn’t have a place to go for the holidays- often times we kids had no idea who these people were. That was just the way mom said it had to be. The blood, sweat, and tears our parents poured into the massive remodel(s). It was the place for all our friends to hang out, the best neighborhood we could ask for. Like Hillary told mom, we sold the house, but the memories don’t go with it. Those are ours forever!

I’m sure my siblings and our mama have their own stories and memories of 9th and Canyon, and we will continue to share them for years to come! ❤️

Helping families buy and sell their homes has never been something I’ve taken lightly. Real emotions are involved. I’ve always loved hearing sellers tell me about raising their families in those homes, the memories they’ve made, etc. After selling my childhood home today, I can relate a little better now, maybe hug them a little longer, and remind them, the memories don’t go with the house.
