Happy International Picnic Day!

Fun fact: The modern picnic became popular in France after the French Revolution when public parks were opened for everyone to enjoy. Fast forward a few hundred years, and we're still finding reasons to eat snacks outside.

This Day in History – Tuesday Fun Facts!

A lot happened on this day over the years:

🏛️ 1858 – Abraham Lincoln gave his famous "House Divided" speech.

🥤 1903 – Pepsi-Cola became an official trademark, giving us one more reason to debate our favorite soft drinks.

🚗 1903 – Henry Ford incorporated the Ford Motor Company, making road trips, commutes, and singing off-key in the car a whole lot more common.

🚀 1963 – Valentina Tereshkova became the first woman in space, proving that the sky isn't the limit it's just the beginning!

Happy Flag Day, neighbors!

Today we're celebrating the Stars and Stripes the original red, white, and blue trendsetter.

The American flag which has been flying proudly since 1777 it has 50 stars, 13 stripes, and somehow still looks perfectly put together.

Meanwhile, some of us are just trying to make it through Sunday without wearing pajama pants all day... and some of us have already accepted our fate.

The Friends of Old Stone Fort are hosting an Enclosure Hike this Saturday, and it sounds like the perfect excuse to get outside, enjoy some fresh air, and pretend we’re all a little more outdoorsy.

The guided hike is family-friendly, free to attend, and only a stone’s throw away from home.

Keep Things Flowing: The “No-Clog” Edition!

Use a drain strainer to grab hair and debris before it goes down the drain.

🍳 Grease is sneaky!
Pouring grease down the kitchen sink may seem easy in the moment, but it can harden and cause major clogs later.

💧 Hot water helps!
Once a week, run hot water through your drains to help loosen and clear minor buildup.

A few small habits can save you from big plumbing headaches later!
