A few people have reached out to me asking about my southern chain food review. I will do a comprehensive review in a few days. But for now I wanted to put a spotlight on the quintessential southern chain: Waffle House.

A short summary of Waffle House is that it’s good, cheap, and fast.

It’s just very basic breakfast (and lunch) food, done well, with friendly service. It’s a better alternative to fast food.

Ava and I stopped at this one in Virginia last week. She ordered a chocolate chip waffle. I got a plain waffle with a side of sausage, and an orange juice. The food was tasty, took about 5 minutes to come out, and our bill was around $16.

Waffle House has a funny reputation for always being open, and hosting viral videos of customers fighting. But in my experience it’s a nice little oasis to grab a quick bite of breakfast food anytime you want.

It cracks me up that they actually have a pre-printed list of behavior rules posted. If you look at the fine print, rule # 8 is “If this is your first time at Waffle House, you HAVE to fight.”

Today my listing at 9 Abingdon in Parsippany closed so I can finally talk about it. Listed for $750,000. It sold for….$860,000!! Have I mentioned it’s a great time to sell?

The owners Rick and Sharon were fantastic and the house was beautiful and immaculately maintained. The home got 100 groups in to view it and we received 17 written offers, all in less than a week.
