I wanted to take this opportunity to connect with you, and share some news regarding my switch to a Horizon Realty & Property Management. If you know more about me as a person and about what motivates me to work hard, then you will know that I am a real estate agent who does not expect your business, only the opportunity to "apply for the job." To know me, you’ve got to understand the path I’ve taken. I was born and raised on the Central Coast and only moved away to attend college at Sonoma State. After graduation, I found myself a little restless and directionless. My then boyfriend Max (husband now) and I moved around a lot – looking for our future. Funny thing is, after five years of looking, we decided we wanted our future to be here on the central coast where we were both born and raised. We settled in an adorable little cottage in Morro Bay less than half a block from the ocean, where we’re kept busy by our five-pound Yorkie, Wrigley. He’s tiny, but he’s so full of love! It might seem strange to move so much only to wind up right back where I started, but the way I see it, it's less about the actual travel and more about the journey. When I returned to my hometown, I came back with a wealth of experiences I didn't have when I left. And more than a handful of those came from my work in restaurants. I’ve been in the service industry since I was seventeen years old. I’ve worked as a hostess, server, and bartender across California and on the east coast. Some were big corporate chains, some were little independent establishments, but all of them put me in an excellent place to interact with people. The years I’ve spent in the industry brought me in contact with all kinds of guests and taught me how to interact with every possible kind of person. My favorite part was the ability to provide personal service—to recognize a regular guest, to remember their order from a previous visit, to make them feel comfortable, and to remind them that they are valued. I bring this same attitude into my work in real estate. Working in real estate has been absolutely perfect for me. It’s a natural outlet for the consistently excellent service that has become so ingrained in me after my years in restaurants. My expectations for myself are high, and I always strive to provide service tailored to each client’s individual needs. I started working for my mother, Lorraine Sterkel, at Pedersen Realty and Property Management in Morro Bay. My mom has been an agent at Pedersen for over 30 Years. In fact, she just recently took over as the owner. I started out as her assistant, found that I had a knack for the business, and got my license shortly thereafter. My mom has been an inspiration to me my entire life. She’s worked incredibly hard and found success after starting with very little. I was fortunate to have her take me under her wing and show me the ropes of real estate. If you work with me, you can expect me to be honest, generous, and straightforward. As a local of the Central Coast, and someone who loves the area, I bring a great deal of local knowledge to the table. I work hard, and I care the whole time.
