*VULNERABLE POST AHEAD*
Real estate isn’t just about contracts and closings, it’s about relationships, communication, and fit.
Recently, I was let go from a situation that was labeled a “conflict of interest.” In reality, the only conflict was that my perspective and professional input weren’t being heard or valued. And while that’s never an easy experience, it’s an important reminder of something I believe strongly:
Not every agent is the right fit for every client, and that goes both ways.
Being “fired” doesn’t always mean you did something wrong. Sometimes it simply means expectations weren’t aligned, communication styles didn’t match, or one party wasn’t open to collaboration. In an industry built on trust and guidance, listening is just as important as expertise.
I share this not for sympathy, but for transparency and education. If you’re buying or selling real estate, choose an agent who not only works hard for you, but one you trust, respect, and are willing to listen to. And as professionals, it’s our responsibility to recognize when a relationship isn’t serving either side and move forward with integrity.
Every experience, good or uncomfortable, sharpens you. I’m grateful for the lesson and even more focused on serving clients who value communication, honesty, and partnership.
Onward, wiser and better.
