Real Estate story time and easily one of the most meaningful deals I’ve done to date.

This woman is a mother, a grandmother, a widow and she’s 91 years old and full of life. I met her daughter by chance after she overheard me talking about Real Estate. She immediately ran to me “you’re a realtor” I’ve gotten that reaction many times because of how I look but this was different this was a hopeful injection into the conversation. I introduced myself and then I did something that all the other realtors they spoke to didn’t… I LISTENED, I listened to what the situation was and what they needed from a realtor. I went to the listing appointment with her mother who is pictured here and I quickly realized what they needed most realtors wouldn’t be willing to do.

I began working with the family 3 month before ever having a signed contract to sell their home, because if at worst I was helping someone who desperately needed it. Her late husband collected thousands of antiques that were consuming the entire house. Every agent they interviewed gave them a ridiculous number to attempt to get the listing and all of them were leaving it on them to get the stuff removed with no guidance at all. I set them up with an auction company and then junk removal company we listed the house in the beginning of April and after 36 private showings an open house attended by 104 groups in 4 hours. I had the house under contract in 4 days $67,000 over list price. Last week we closed after 3 days of me, her daughter and 2 guys from the clean-out crew filling five 10 yard trailers and ten 10 yard dumpsters. This family now has a fresh start and the mother can live the rest of her beautiful life without being overwhelmed.

The deals like this are the most challenging, but also bring meaning to what we do. I’ll never forget this one!!!
