🍁🍂 IT'S OFFICIALLY FALL AT CARRIAGE CLUB! 🍂🍁

At 8:05 p.m. tonight, we officially welcome the Autumn Equinox and the first day of fall! 🌙🍁☕🧡

The cozy season has arrived! 🍂

Soon we'll be watching the leaves around us turn beautiful shades of red, orange and gold 🍁🌳, hearing them crunch beneath our feet on our walks, enjoying cooler mornings and afternoons, and finally pulling those favorite sweaters out of the drawer that have been patiently waiting for their time to shine again. 🧥🍂😄

It's time for coffee ☕, tea 🫖, an easy batch of cookies 🍪 or brownies fresh from the oven...and maybe even the first little signs that our holiday hibernation season isn't too far away. 🎁🍁😉

And as we begin spending a little more time indoors, this is a perfect time to remember something pretty special:

Find a comfortable spot and read awhile, take a book back to your apartment and return it when you're finished, or perhaps gather a few fellow readers and start your own resident-hosted book club! 📖☕👓

And depending on your imagination, you may even feel like you've wandered onto the lanai from The Golden Girls. 😂🌴☕ Just bring the cheesecake! 🍰

📦 The Season of Packages Is Coming!

Fall also means some of our early birds may already be thinking about holiday cards, shopping and gifts. 🎁📬😉

Our first-floor mailrooms in both residential wings make checking the mail convenient, but as online shopping picks up, please remember to occasionally check the A Wing, B Wing, Clubhouse, and side/back entrances if you're expecting a delivery.

Our longtime UPS driver, Mark, generally delivers packages directly to apartment doors. 📦👏 Amazon and FedEx deliveries may sometimes be left near the corresponding residential entrance—and every once in a while, a package takes a little detour and ends up somewhere unexpected! 😄 USPS packages are generally brought into the mailroom.

And a special THANK YOU to the residents who bring packages inside the locked doors or help a neighbor by getting a misplaced delivery where it belongs. 🧡📦🏡

Those little acts of kindness are exactly what being neighbors is all about.

Our Clubhouse kitchen isn't only there to look pretty! 😄🍪🍴

Maybe fall is the season to try that new cookie recipe, practice a favorite dish before the holidays, bake something with a neighbor, or even create a resident-hosted cooking or baking group.

Share recipes. Share stories. Compare family traditions. And, of course, someone has to volunteer for taste-testing duty! 😂🍪🥧

One of the nicest things about Carriage Club is that swimming season doesn't disappear when summer does. 🍂🏊‍♀️

Take a relaxing swim, enjoy some gentle water exercise, work through your personal physical-therapy routine if appropriate, and then unwind in the whirlpool. 💦

Please remember that food and beverages are not permitted in the swimming pool area. They can remain safely in the Club Room or in one of the lockers located in the men's and women's restrooms.

And yes...please make sure you walk into the correct one! 😂🚪

☕ Sometimes Quiet Is the Activity

Directly across from the Rental Office is our small and cozy Clubhouse Living Room.

✡️ Yom Kippur — A Time for Reflection, Forgiveness & New Beginnings ✡️

As the sun sets this evening, members of the Jewish faith here at Carriage Club and around the world begin the observance of Yom Kippur — the Day of Atonement and the holiest day of the Jewish year.

Yom Kippur begins at sundown this evening and concludes tomorrow evening. It marks the culmination of the High Holy Days that began with Rosh Hashanah and is a deeply meaningful time devoted to prayer, reflection, repentance and forgiveness.

For thousands of years, Yom Kippur has offered an opportunity to look inward — to consider our actions over the past year, acknowledge where we may have fallen short, seek forgiveness from those we may have hurt and think about how we can do better moving forward.

Many who observe Yom Kippur will fast, attend synagogue services, pray, remember loved ones who have passed and spend much of the day in quiet reflection. At the conclusion of the holiday, families and friends may gather together to break the fast.

Whether you are Jewish or not, perhaps there is something in the spirit of this day that all of us can carry with us.

Maybe it is reaching out to someone we haven't spoken with in a while. ❤️
Offering an apology we've been meaning to give.
Choosing to forgive an old hurt.
Remembering someone we dearly miss. 🕯️
Spending a little extra time with family or friends.
Or simply asking ourselves how we can bring a little more kindness, patience and understanding into the lives of those around us.

Here at Carriage Club, we are neighbors of different backgrounds, traditions and beliefs — but kindness, forgiveness, compassion and caring for one another are things we can all share.

🌴☀️ A LITTLE POSTCARD FROM ARUBA… FROM YOUR VACATIONING PROPERTY MANAGER! ☀️🌴

Good morning, Carriage Club family! 👋💕

Well…all good things must eventually come to an end. 🥹🌴

As I wake up to my final morning here in beautiful Aruba, it's time to start packing the suitcase 🧳, say goodbye to the palm trees and Caribbean sunshine ☀️🌊, head to the airport ✈️, and begin my journey back home to New Jersey. 🏡❤️

And yes…I'm definitely a little sad 😥 to see this wonderful vacation come to an end. But I'm heading home with something much better than anything I could fit into my suitcase — some pretty wonderful memories. ❤️

Since so many of you wished me a wonderful trip before I left, I thought my last morning here would be the perfect time to send all of you a little postcard from Aruba and share a few of my favorite snapshots from this very special adventure. 🌴💌📸

One of the nicest things about traveling is the memories we bring home with us — and I know after 106 apartments and LOTS of conversations over the years, there are probably some pretty amazing travel stories tucked away throughout the Carriage Club! ✈️🧳🌎

🌴☀️ Mama Jhana Has Officially Left the Building! ☀️🌴

Thank you so very much for all of your vacation 🏖 wishes!! ⭐🌟⭐

Good Morning Carriage Club Residents, Friends & Family!

Well… the day has finally arrived! 😂 The bags are packed, the Out of Office is ON, and I am officially off to Aruba! ✈️🏝️🌊

As you may remember, my sister—my Irish twin, just 11 months apart—and I are celebrating my upcoming BIG 5-0 a little early! 🎂😳 She gets her turn next year. 😂

For the next few days, we're trading work, emails and everyday responsibilities for sunshine, sand, pool time and some much-needed sister time. ☀️🌴 I'm picturing a strawberry daiquiri in one hand, a good book in the other, my toes in the water…and absolutely NO idea what is happening in my email inbox. 😂🍓🍹📖

And yes, you read that correctly! I will not be checking my work emails and I will not have phone service while I am away. Mama Jhana is officially OFF DUTY! 😂

Giuseppe will be onsite handling his normal maintenance responsibilities, so please continue following our usual procedures and submitting maintenance requests through the resident portal.

For routine Management Office matters that can wait, I’ll take care of them when I return on Monday, September 21. Please give me a little patience and grace that first day back while I trade my flip-flops for work shoes, remember my passwords 😂, catch up on emails and get myself back into Property Manager mode.

Until then, stay well, behave yourselves 😉, be kind to one another, and take good care of the Carriage Club while Mama Jhana is away!

🍎🍯 L’Shanah Tovah — Happy Rosh Hashanah! 🍯🍎

As the sun sets this evening, Rosh Hashanah begins, marking the Jewish New Year and the start of the Jewish High Holy Days.

To our Jewish residents, families, friends and loved ones, we wish you L’Shanah Tovah — a good, peaceful and sweet New Year. ❤️

For those who may not be familiar with Rosh Hashanah, its traditions carry some beautiful messages that all of us, regardless of our faith or background, can appreciate.

Rosh Hashanah is a time to pause and reflect on the year that has passed and look toward the year ahead. It encourages reflection, forgiveness, gratitude, kindness and the opportunity for a fresh beginning.

One of its best-known traditions is dipping apples into honey 🍎🍯 as a wish for a sweet year ahead. The shofar, traditionally made from a ram’s horn, is also sounded as an important part of the observance.

Perhaps tonight we can all borrow a little something from this beautiful tradition.

Think about something from the past year for which you are grateful. Reach out to someone you've been meaning to call. Forgive a small hurt. Help a neighbor. Share a laugh. Sit with a friend. Or simply make a promise to yourself to carry a little more patience, kindness and compassion into the year ahead.

And if a few neighbors happen to gather in the Clubroom with some sliced apples and honey, even better. ❤️🍎🍯

Our community is made up of people from different backgrounds, traditions and life experiences—and learning about and celebrating those differences is one more way we can continue looking out for one another.

25 Years. We Remember. We Honor. We Will Never Forget.

Today marks 25 years since a day that forever changed our nation and the lives of so many families.

Twenty-five years may have passed, but there are some moments that time simply cannot erase. There are precious souls whose absence is still deeply felt, names that are still spoken with love, photographs still held close, memories still treasured, and families and friends who have carried them in their hearts every day since. 🕊️❤️

To every beautiful soul who departed this world on September 11, 2001 — you have been missed from the moment you left us, and you will be missed until infinity. ♾️🕊️

We also remember the courage of the firefighters, police officers, first responders, emergency workers, service members, volunteers, everyday citizens, and countless others who ran toward danger, extended a hand to a stranger, offered comfort, or simply did whatever they could to help another human being.

And perhaps one of the greatest lessons we can continue carrying forward 25 years later is how much we need one another.

On a day filled with such sorrow, let us choose love. ❤️

Let us check on one another.
Let us support one another.
Let us be patient and compassionate with one another.
Let us stand strong beside one another.
And let us never take for granted the opportunity we have today to tell someone, “You matter to me.”

🏡 A Little Note from the Rental Office — Helping Us Help You 💛

As we come out of the Labor Day holiday weekend — a time when we recognize the work people do every day — I thought this would be a good opportunity to share a little reminder about the Rental Office and some of the work that happens behind the scenes here at Carriage Club.

Many of you know that I am your Property Manager and Leasing Agent, but you may not always see everything that comes along with those roles. 😊

The Rental Office administration for our 106-apartment community is handled by yours truly 🥰.

Along with helping residents and families, my days include leasing and renewals, move-ins and move-outs, resident accounts and documentation, reports and data entry, community notices, LOFT communications, vendor and contractor follow-up, purchase documentation, property planning, leasing inquiries and tours, Facebook communications, and other items that may pop up along the way.

There is quite a bit happening behind the Rental Office door! 🗂️💻📞🏡

I understand when an item is requested — a copy of a lease, information from your ledger, help understanding your LOFT account, a document, an answer to an email, or something else — your request is important to you. And it is important to me, too.

At the same time, I ask for a little patience and understanding while I work through everyone's needs along with the daily responsibilities of operating the community. Some requests can be handled quickly; others may need research, records pulled, information from another person, or simply a little more time. ⏳

A few ways you can help:

📄 Please keep copies of important documents for your own records. Before returning a signed lease renewal or other important paperwork, consider making a copy or taking clear photos/scans for your records.

💻 Please use the LOFT Resident Portal for community-related communication whenever appropriate. You may also email me directly or leave a clear, legible written note in the Rental Office mailbox.

📱 Please do not use or share my personal cell phone number for Carriage Club business. Over the years, I have occasionally shared my personal number with a resident or family member during an unusual or immediate emergency. That does not make it a general Rental Office contact number, and I respectfully ask that it not be passed along to others or used for routine community matters.

🔁 If you've already sent me a request, please allow me some time before sending repeated follow-ups. I promise I am not ignoring you! Sometimes I am simply working through several priorities at once.

💛 And most importantly, please remember that patience, kindness and understanding go a long way.

Carriage Club is a community, and a community works best when we all do our little part. My job is to manage and support the community, but residents and families can help tremendously by keeping copies of their records, using the proper communication channels, providing requested information timely, and allowing reasonable time for follow-up.

There is always something happening behind the scenes regardless of its visibility to others. 😊

Coming out of Labor Day, I think it is a nice reminder for all of us — whether someone works in an office, maintains a property, cleans a community, cares for a family, drives a truck, teaches a classroom, works in healthcare, or does one of the countless jobs that keep our lives moving. 🇺🇸

🌴☀️ A Little Vacation Notice from Your Property Manager! ☀️🌴

Good Morning Carriage Club Residents, Friends & Family!

Just a little advance notice that I will be on vacation Monday, September 14 through Friday, September 18, returning to the office on Monday, September 21.

This time, I’ll be trading the Carriage Club office for a little sunshine, sand and island time in Aruba! 🌊🏝️

And since I normally don't talk much about my birthday, here's a little fun fact behind this particular trip: I’ll be turning the big 5-0 on December 11! 🎂😳 My sister—my “Irish twin,” just 11 months apart—will be celebrating her 50th next year, so we're taking this trip together as an early celebration of this milestone birthday.

Why celebrate early? Well… a December birthday on the East Coast can mean cold weather, snow, delayed flights and a vacation that begins with unnecessary drama. 😂 So rather than take our chances with Mother Nature in December, Aruba in September sounded like a much better idea! 🌴☀️

While I’m away, I expect to have limited access to email and no regular access to phone calls, so please plan accordingly for any routine office matters you may need assistance with. Lease renewals, copies of documents, questions regarding your resident file, renter’s insurance information and other non-urgent administrative matters can happily wait for me until I return.

If you know you will need something dire from the onsite Management Office before September 14, please feel free to reach out ahead of time so I can assist you before I leave.

💰 And now, because apparently even my vacation announcement cannot escape at least one Property Manager reminder… 😂

As with every month, all resident account balances are expected to be paid and cleared to $0 by the 15th, including any outstanding rent, water and sewer charges, pet or storage fees, and applicable violation charges, including renter’s insurance gap or electricity-related violation fees.

My being somewhere under a palm tree does not put September’s payment responsibilities on vacation with me! 🌴😂 Resident accounts may still be monitored by Senior Management during my absence to ensure payments are being received as required.

So, just because Mama Jhana is away doesn’t mean the bills get to play! 😂 Please continue following your normal payment routine and taking care of your account accordingly.

And yes… the irony is not lost on me that while writing a post about being a workaholic and taking a vacation, I’m probably still thinking of another revision, another reminder, or one more thing I forgot to tell everyone. Apparently, vacation mode is going to require some practice. 😂

🔧 Maintenance procedures will remain the same while I am away. Although Giuseppe is back onsite, please continue submitting maintenance requests through the resident portal as usual. This helps keep requests documented, organized and addressed appropriately. Please allow him some time to get back into his own routine following his vacation as well.

For any truly time-sensitive administrative matter during my absence—such as documentation involving an immediate move-in or move-out—please follow the appropriate Management channels for assistance. All other routine matters can be addressed when I return.

And speaking of returning… please give your Property Manager a little grace on Monday, September 21! 😂 I’m hoping to come back rested, refreshed and recharged, but there may be quite a few emails and matters waiting for me. I’ll work through everything as quickly as I can and appreciate your patience while I get back into my normal groove.

As for Aruba… my sister and I are both known to be a couple of workaholics, so we’ll be attempting the difficult task of putting work aside and actually enjoying an island for a few days. 🌴😂 Wish us luck—we may need it!

Thank you in advance for helping things run smoothly while I’m away. I appreciate everyone allowing both Giuseppe and me the opportunity to enjoy our respective time off and return refreshed.

Now I just have to accomplish the hardest part: actually going on vacation and behaving like I’m on vacation! 😂🌴

🇺🇸🛠️ Happy Labor Day, Carriage Club! 🛠️🇺🇸

Today, we celebrate Labor Day — a day dedicated to recognizing the hard work, dedication and contributions of working people throughout our country. ❤️🤍💙

Here at Carriage Club, we have residents from so many different walks of life — some enjoying a well-earned retirement after many years in the workforce, and others who are still working, contributing and keeping busy each day. To all of you, today is a celebration of the work you have done — and continue to do! 👏😊

Whether your career was spent in an office, a classroom, a hospital, a store, a trade, public service, raising a family, running a business or somewhere entirely different, every working life has its own story. Labor Day gives us a chance to recognize the effort, perseverance and contributions that have helped build our families, communities and country. 🇺🇸

And while Labor Day marks the unofficial end of summer ☀️, there is still plenty of time to enjoy the day! Maybe that means firing up the grill 🌭🍔, relaxing outside, spending time with family and friends, watching a good movie, taking an afternoon nap 😴, or simply enjoying a day with nowhere you have to be.

🐝 Our Carriage Club worker bees will be taking a little break, too!

In observance of the Labor Day holiday, the Rental Office, Maintenance Department, and Cleaning & Waste Department will be closed today. Regular operations will resume on Tuesday, September 8th.

🇮🇹 Bentornato a casa, Giuseppe! Welcome Home! 🇺🇸

Tonight we are excited to welcome Giuseppe home from Italy! ❤️🤍💚

We hope he had a wonderful vacation spending time with family and friends in his home country, enjoying plenty of delicious home-cooked Italian meals, making memories, and getting some well-deserved time to relax and recharge. 😊

Giuseppe is expected to return this evening, so please remember that today is still a travel day for him. After traveling home from Italy—and adjusting from a six-hour time difference—we want to give him a little time to unpack, rest, readjust, and get settled back home.

🔧 A little maintenance reminder for everyone:

We understand that there may be maintenance items still pending from before Giuseppe's vacation, along with new requests that came in while he was away. Once he is back and settled, he will begin reviewing the outstanding work orders and organizing and prioritizing them accordingly.

Please continue to enter all maintenance requests through the resident portal, even after Giuseppe returns. This helps us keep requests documented, organized, and properly tracked so that nothing gets lost or overlooked.

And as tempting as it may be when you see him in the hallway, please try not to stop Giuseppe with new maintenance requests while he is moving throughout the community. If you see him carrying his tools, pushing equipment, climbing a ladder, or heading from one apartment to another, chances are he's already on his way to take care of something! 😊 Please use the portal instead.

He may be returning to a busy schedule that includes outstanding resident work orders, new requests received during his absence, apartment preparations, and the everyday maintenance needs of our community.
