Our family found this property in 1930, and we have loved it ever since. The rustic cabin and cozy house are nestled in a fragrant balsam forest where deer come to graze, and chipmunks collect acorns for the cold winters. Both houses overlook the bay, where the water beckons for a kayak trip, sunrise meditation, or moonlight sail. Pretty Marsh is on the outskirts of Acadia National Park. We are a

stone's throw (or 20 minute drive) from hikes, swimming holes, and cute harbor towns. Curl up with a good book by the fireplace, take a strenuous mountain hike and then descend for a Popover at Jordan Pond House, canoe through calm waters, or explore the cute shops and great restaurants the neighboring towns have to offer. Dear friends of the family ran in the MDI Marathon and then cozied up at the house with tea and a hot shower afterwards. Would you like to run this scenic marathon next year? Whether running or r&r-ing, October is a beautiful month - crisp and full of fall colors.
