Not the handful of stars you can see through the glow of the city. We're talking about stepping outside at The Grotto after dark, letting your eyes adjust, and looking up at a sky filled with stars.

Our location in the Ouachita Mountains means there's very little light pollution—making nighttime one of our favorite times to enjoy the property.

No agenda. No noise. No crowds.
Just a blanket, a comfortable chair, a little quiet… and a sky worth staying up for.

Turn Labor Day into a long weekend in the Ouachita Mountains. 🌲

Spend the day exploring, head into Hot Springs for the Blues Fest, stroll downtown during Gallery Walk, explore the lakes and trails, and cap off Sunday night with the Labor Day fireworks over Lake Hamilton. 🎆

Then come back to The Grotto, slow things down, and enjoy 10 private acres of woods, space to spread out, and a little room to simply be together.

No complicated itinerary required. Just a long weekend, a beautiful place, and people you enjoy being around.

Some views never lose their impact. ⛵️

Lake Ouachita stretches through the Ouachita Mountains with miles of blue water, forested shoreline, and islands scattered as far as you can see. The world around us keeps changing, but there’s something reassuring about coming back to a place that still feels familiar. 🏝️

That is the part of what makes Lake Ouachita so special. No matter how much time passes, there are still views out here that make you stop for a minute and simply take it all in.

Looking for one last summer adventure before fall arrives? Labor Day Weekend is a great time to make the trip to the Ouachitas—and there’s plenty to do!
🌲 Explore the Ouachitas
Hike a mountain trail, explore the 10 acres at The Grotto, or spend the day on Lake Ouachita.
💎 Go crystal hunting
Mount Ida is the Quartz Crystal Capital of the World. Spend a few hours digging for your own Arkansas quartz at one of the area's crystal mines.
🚴 Tour de Salvation — Sunday, Sept. 6
Cyclists can take part in the Tour de Salvation in Hot Springs, a ride benefiting The Salvation Army's Pathway of Hope program. The event runs from 7 a.m.–3 p.m.
🎆 Labor Day Fireworks — Sunday, Sept. 6
Then head to Hot Springs for the big finale: a FREE fireworks show over Lake Hamilton! The fireworks launch from barges near the Highway 7 bridge and are synchronized to music on 97.5 FM.
