UPDATE from attending the President's Circle Conference
I did expect to have about 10 different conversations and I did talk to 30 members and got the clear scoop on our RPAC contributions and brought up the questions I had been tasked with getting answers to.
The conversations were clear and succinct and did not deviate much from the message.
OUR RPAC contributions have nothing to do with the NAR settlement. **Any further discussion on that can be had with other powers that be.**
RPAC Contributions:
Please be aware that our RPAC contributions are purely for Advocacy.
We contribute the funds and our Trustees have the big task of allotting them properly and make the best selections of the recipients of our funds. Our State RPAC committees also have some input with the selections.
Realtor Champions are Bi-Partisan (50/50), are property rights focused, and fight for property issues. The are focused on Pro-Real Estate Policies.
They are selected based on their Legislative Record on 1031 Exchanges, support of Property Rights, Fair Housing Issues just to name a few. (I know this is a sore spot for most of us because we want our champions to align with who we are) but, my position on this piece is quite simple. No one can truly measure up when we are all scrutinized closely.
We must give a little grace and hope that the best decisions in the homeownership space will be made to benefit the consumer that we Advocate for passionately.
Please feel free to let me know what you think and keep it civil.
You can also DM me.
Cheers to all
