Today we’re celebrating one of our four-legged heroes — K-9 Cypher! Cypher is the Electronic Storage Detection K-9 for the Charleston County Sheriff’s Office, working closely with our Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force.

So far in 2025, K-9 Cypher has made a big impact:

🔍 28 Searches conducted
📦 128 Items located — including 16 evidentiary items
🕒 260+ Hours of training — averaging over 21 hours per month!
(As a food drive dog, Cypher only eats when he trains — making his dedication truly unique.)
🤝 Assisted multiple local, state, and federal agencies
🏛️ Conducted searches in local jails and federal correctional institutions
🚗 Helped clear vehicles for individuals concerned about stalking

K-9 Cypher was generously donated to Charleston County by Defenders for Children, and we are incredibly grateful to have him on our team. His work helps protect some of the most vulnerable members of our community.
