No matter how many times I walk into the Nathaniel Russell House, standing at the base of this staircase will never fail to take my breath away🤩

Built in 1808, this iconic three-story flying staircase is one of the most incredible architectural marvels in the entire country💯💥 It is completely cantilevered, rising three full flights without a single central support column. Each tread literally supports the one above and below it, crafted seamlessly with wooden pegs and zero nails. It’s an absolute masterpiece of early American craftsmanship and Federal-style design right in the heart of historic downtown Charleston🏡🤍

If you’re strolling down Meeting Street, taking the tour to see this floating wonder in person is a absolute must. Local magic at its finest📍
