💙🇺🇸 One of My Favorite Runs

The 9/11 Heroes Run is always one of my favorite races, and this year was especially inspiring as we marked 25 years since September 11, 2001.

Seeing members of our military and first responders running the race in full gear was truly amazing. I wish I could have captured that moment because it was such a powerful sight.

Then, coming into the finish and having volunteers run alongside us carrying American flags made it even more meaningful.

I’m so grateful to have been part of a morning that brought our community together to remember those we lost, honor those who stepped up to serve, and continue the promise to never forget. ❤️🤍💙

Today, we remember the lives lost on September 11, 2001, the heroes who ran toward danger, and the families whose lives were forever changed.

Twenty-five years later, the courage, sacrifice, and incredible sense of unity we saw in the days that followed still stand out.

May we never forget those we lost, and may we always remember what it means to stand together as Americans. 🇺🇸

Some moves are about more than just finding the right house. 🏡

I’m helping some of my favorite clients choose a home for their parents, Gene and Gwen, who are relocating from Indiana to Summerville to be closer to their son and his family.

With walking trails, neighborhood amenities, shopping and recreation all close by, Cane Bay offers plenty to enjoy while still keeping them close to family.

Local Spotlight: Mount Pleasant Seafood 🦐🐟

It doesn’t get much more Mount Pleasant than this!

Mt. Pleasant Seafood has been a fixture on Shem Creek since 1945, when Mount Pleasant was still a small sh*****ng village of around 1,500 people. Eighty years later, the business is still family owned and operated, now by the fourth generation.

Today, you can stop in and find cases filled with fresh fish, shrimp, crab, oysters, clams, scallops and more, along with plenty of Lowcountry favorites to take home. They also carry prepared items like crab cakes and deviled crab, plus seasonings, sauces, seafood tools and locally made products.

I love seeing longtime local businesses like this still thriving in a community that has changed so much around them. There’s something special about picking up fresh seafood right on Shem Creek from a family business that has been doing it for generations.

This sweet girl had a very scary week. 💗

One of my chickens, Mohawk, was attacked by a hawk and was pretty badly injured. I rushed her to VEG in Mount Pleasant, and I honestly can’t say enough about the care we received.

Many vets don’t treat chickens, but Dr. Yates and the team didn’t hesitate. Dr. Yates even has chickens of her own, which made me feel like my girl was in especially good hands.
Mohawk ended up needing around 30 stitches.

Throughout the whole experience, they kept me involved in her care, explained what was happening, and made me feel like everyone genuinely wanted what was best for her.

Thankfully, Mohawk is doing better. She’s still on antibiotics and pain medicine and can’t rejoin her flock just yet, but she’s been able to get outside for a little “recess” and visit them. For now, she’s living inside the house and getting very, very spoiled. 💕🐔

I hope I never need another emergency vet visit, but I’m so grateful to know VEG is there if I do. Thank you, Dr. Yates and the entire team, for taking such good care of my girl. 💗

It didn’t take long for this beautiful James Island home to find its buyer. With its thoughtful custom design, flexible floor plan, first-floor primary suite, and convenient location between Downtown Charleston and Folly Beach, there was so much to love about this one.
