Virtual showings are great…if you already know the neighborhoods. But if I could go back, the first thing I would say is…come down for a weekend if you can.

Most of my clients do this now, but a few years ago many people took the risk on the virtual showing and bought the house that way. I get it - Life is BUSY! But drive the areas. See what feels like home to YOU. From what I’ve seen, many people want to sell later and not because of the house. Because the location doesn’t quite fit in with their lifestyle.

I had a family recently say to me that the can’t believe how different all of the areas of Charleston feel. You can’t Google a feeling for the right neighborhood that speaks to you.

A long weekend can help a lot. I help families narrow down their top neighborhoods based on their budget and lifestyle, and most of them leaving knowing exactly where they want to be.

Because it’s not just about the house all the time. It’s about the schools, lifestyle, your job, sports, activities, family nearby…those are usually what decide where you actually land.

Old Village/Old Mt. Pleasant
Between the sidewalk lined streets, the historic homes, the harbor views, and the moss draped oaks, this is the epitome of Mount Pleasant living. Walk the Pitt St Bridge for breathtaking views or venture to W**e Shop OV for a glass before dinner at the Post House Inn.

I’on
Winding canals, miles of marsh front trails, and classic Charleston Single homes - all just minutes from downtown Charleston and the beach. Grab a coffee, dinner, or drinks in the Square, or head over to the Creek Club for a sunset view.

North Pointe
One of the best of Mount Pleasant’s “hidden gem” neighborhoods, and tucked away just off of Ben Sawyer Blvd. Whether you’re walking to brunch or biking to Sullivan’s Island, this is where local charm meets the perfect location.
