Cold weather is the reason a hot tub goes from a nice extra to the whole point of the weekend.

Here are 12 of our homes with a private hot tub, because fall and winter are when that stops being a bonus and starts being the plan.

They run from 3 to 6 bedrooms, so a couple's weekend and a full group trip both work. Several sit right on the water, most have a fire pit going by dark, and a few come with a game room, theater or arcade for the nights nobody wants to leave the house.

They are spread across Long Pond, Tobyhanna, Pocono Summit and East Stroudsburg, many within a short drive of Camelback, and all about two hours from New York City and Philadelphia.

Book directly by clicking the link in our bio and pick the one that fits your group!

Save this for your next cold weather trip, and tag the person who always does the planning. πŸ˜‰

Got a big family or bringing the whole crew for a fall getaway in the Poconos?

Here are 10 of our homes that sleep 14 to 16 guests, so everyone stays under one roof instead of splitting across two houses and two sets of keys.

Most have a private hot tub for the cold nights. A few sit right on the lake, several have fireplaces, and nearly all come with a game room, arcade or movie space for the evenings nobody wants to go out. Some even have a little extra personality, from a converted horse stable to an indoor slide and a Prohibition-style basement bar. Three are pet friendly, so your furry friend can come too.

They are spread across Long Pond, Tobyhanna, Tannersville, Pocono Summit and Mount Pocono, many within minutes of Camelback and Kalahari, and all about two hours from New York City and Philadelphia.

DM us and tell us your headcount and the kind of weekend you want, and we will point you to the right house.

Save this for your next group trip, and tag the person who always does the planning!

The Pocono Mountains cover about 2,400 square miles, roughly the size of Delaware. Almost everybody books their first trip as
though it is one town, and that single assumption is behind most of the disappointment people have here.

The lake, the trails and the walkable towns are not near each other. Driving between them eats a morning. So the order matters:
decide what you actually want to do with your days first, then book somewhere near that, rather than picking a house on price and
discovering the thing you saved is forty minutes away.

Four smaller ones that come up constantly. Grocery shop before you arrive, because the first evening is the one you lose. Cell
service drops in places, and we will tell you which houses are strong if you ask. Nothing is open late up here, so plan dinner
earlier than you would in the city. And the road in matters more than the listing photos suggest, especially past October.

None of that is in a brochure because a brochure is not trying to make your weekend good, it is trying to make the region look
good.

We run 30+ homes across all of it, from Long Pond down to Stroudsburg. Tell us the weekend you are picturing and we will tell
you which end of the mountains to be on.

Save this, and send it to whoever is planning your first trip up!

Tonight, the sky in the Poconos will glow.

Night Lights is at Pocono Raceway from three until nine. Live music, campfires and s'mores while it is still light, then everyone lets their lantern go once it gets dark.

The lanterns are biodegradable, and there is a crew that goes out collecting them for two days afterward, which is how something like this happens in the middle of state forest at all.

If tonight does not work, there is a second one. Saturday September 19, same place, same times. That is the last Pocono date of the year.

One thing worth knowing if you go on the 19th. It runs late, the roads out of Long Pond are dark and unlit, and the drive back at that hour is longer and worse than the one coming up. Most people sort the ticket first and think about where they are sleeping second.

We still have limited homes left that are a few minutes away from the venue. DM us and we will tell you what is open for the 19th!

Tag whoever you would take.

Meteorologists call September 1st the first day of fall.

Up here the shift is easy to feel. Cooler mornings, quieter water, and light that makes everyone linger outside a little longer after dinner.

Autumn is also the best stretch of the year to get the whole group in one place. The crowds thin out, the afternoons stay warm, and nobody is competing for a spot by the water.

This lakefront home in Long Pond was made for that trip. Seven bedrooms and four full bathrooms, so everyone gets a real bed. Four kings, two twins, four bunks. A heated private pool with lake views, a fire pit and gas grill in the backyard, and lake access through the Emerald Lakes community.

Inside, the movie room, the game room with the pool table and arcade, and the poker room with the wet bar all open into one another. Everyone stays together without being on top of each other.
