❄️ Winter Excursions Are Coming to the East Broad Top Railroad ❄️

Following our Winter Spectacular, we’re excited to continue the season with Winter Excursions, beginning Saturday, February 21.

These wintertime train rides will operate on Saturdays through March 28, leading right into the start of Easter on the Rails. 🐣 The excursion offers families a chance to experience the East Broad Top during a quieter, more relaxed time of year and enjoy the winter views of the Aughwick Valley.

Winter excursions provide a different kind of visit. Peaceful winter scenery, and the opportunity to enjoy the railroad at an unhurried pace. These trains will be powered by diesel.

⏰ Departure times will be 10:00 AM and Noon.

The first flakes have fallen in Rockhill Furnace! ❄️

While the real winter storms are still a few weeks away, we can already feel the excitement building for our Christmas in Coal Country season! Step aboard our historic trains this holiday and experience the East Broad Top blanketed in the magic of wintertime steam.

For those who are interested in Big Foot sightings there is one documented about 2 miles from the cabin. BFRO Report 69564: Witnesses hear multiple wood knocks while night fishing near Mt. Union.
Creepy stories:
Look up and read about the Brown Murders in 1890 that happened a few miles from Shirleysburg in Hill Valley.
In Shade Gap (about 20 mins away) There was a kidnapping May 11th, 1966. You can watch a movie called a Cry in the Wild and see how deranged this mountain man was that wreaked havoc on the local community.
