The James Bailey Estate in 1911. Park lane would be on the lower left, and Vernon Manor to the east. "Central Boulevard" is now Route 22. Notice that many of the home lots that border the north side of the property are still vacant.

Park Lane, located at the corner of Lincoln Avenue and North Columbus Avenue (Rt. 22), is located on a portion of the former James A Bailey Estate. He was the “Bailey” in “Barnum & Bailey,” who constructed a large mansion on the north side of Lincoln. Bailey died at home in 1906 and the estate was sold a few years later by his widow. The house was left vacant and deteriorated until it was razed and Vernon Manor built next door.
