Treasurer Bob Watt has announced that the 2024 real estate tax bills that are payable in 2025 have been calculated, and will be mailed no later than August 8, 2025.
The first installment due date is September 10, 2025, and the second installment is due October 10, 2025.
For property owners who have opted for electronic notification, emails will be arriving in your email inbox the same day as the paper bills are mailed.
For property owners wishing to pay online, the online portal will become available on August 1. Go to jeffersonil.devnetwedge.com, enter ONE of the following: owner name, OR property address, OR parcel number, and select search, then click the “Pay Taxes” button. Property owners can also view or pint a copy of their tax bills on this site.
Taxpayers can also go directly to the online payment site by going to payments.municipay.com/il_jefferson, select a department – real estate, enter the owner name, OR property address, OR parcel number, then press enter, or click the find button on the screen. From here, the owner can make a one-time payment, or enroll in AutoPay which will ensure on-time payments into the future.
As we all are aware, mail frequently is delayed or lost, so if a tax bill has not arrived by August 15, property owners are encouraged to go to the online site (jeffersonil.devnetwedge.com) to find and print copies of their bills. Taxpayers may also obtain a copy of their bills in the Jefferson County Treasurer’s office for a minimal copying fee.
Anyone with questions regarding their real estate property tax bills may contact the Treasurer’s office by calling 618-244-8010, or by sending an email to [email protected].
