Lake Closed Due To High Water
Per District Policy, the boat ramps on Lake Cypress Springs are CLOSED. All water traffic on Lake Cypress Springs is strictly prohibited. The lake level has reached the elevation of 380.50 ft MSL or 2.5 feet above conservation pool (378 ft MSL).

The District’s Rules and Regulations (Article 2.8) state that when the District closes the lake or any District boat ramp that “no person, vehicle or water craft shall be allowed on the Lake or to utilize any boat ramp until the Lake and/or boat ramp is re-opened. Any prohibited use of the Lake or boat ramp during closure is a violation of the Rules.”

During a lake closure, this rule is strictly enforced and citations will be issued.

The District’s Rules and Regulations (Article 14.20 t) also state, that “All boats lifted and stored in Boathouses shall be restricted, by tie (rope, chain, chord, etc.), or by obstruction (bar, pole, post, etc.), from floating outside of the Boathouse perimeter. All smaller watercraft (jet skis, paddle boats, kayaks, canoes, etc.) shall be similarly secured from floating untethered.”

Watercraft that are found in violation of this rule will be impounded and removed from the reservoir.

IMPORTANT NATURAL GAS INFO
please read and share
If your gas is off. . .
If possible, have someone over 18 at your home today after 12 noon. Unlike electrical outages, gas cannot just be flipped back on. Once the leak is fixed (late morning today) the gas company will have to turn off the meters at EVERY SINGLE CUSTOMER BOTH RESIDENTIAL AND COMMERCIAL.
Before your meter can be turned back on, a Centerpoint employee MUST inspect your home or business to be sure it is safe to restore the gas. To do that, they will have to go inside. There are about 5,000 customers affected here. Best estimate for full restoration is 72 HOURS to reach all customers.
If you are not there when Centerpoint arrives, you will be passed by and your gas will not be turned back on. This is a strict safety precaution to insure no dangerous gas is flowing into the house.
