As we prepare to celebrate America’s Birthday tomorrow, I wanted to take a moment to reflect on Wharton’s 250th Celebration .

Looking back at this celebration, I am incredibly humbled and grateful. What we experienced that day was more than just a parade, it was a community coming together to celebrate our country, our history, and each other.

To everyone who made this possible...thank you.

Thank you to our incredible Wharton Police Department for keeping everyone safe, our dedicated Wharton Fire Department for always being there when our community needs them, our dedicated Department of Public Works who worked tirelessly behind the scenes, our American Legion and veterans who remind us what patriotism truly means, our first responders, parade participants, local businesses, sponsors, volunteers, committee members, borough staff, and every resident who lined the streets waving flags with pride.

This was never about one person. It was a true team effort, and every one of you played a part in making this celebration something so special.

When we first began planning, I had a vision of what this day could be, but the reality exceeded anything I could have imagined. Seeing our streets filled with families, children, veterans, neighbors, and so much red, white, and blue reminded me exactly why I love this town.

The messages, photos, and kind words so many of you have shared since that day have truly touched my heart. More than once, they’ve brought me to tears. Knowing this celebration created memories that families will carry with them for years to come is the greatest reward I could ever ask for.

This is what small-town America is all about. Neighbors helping neighbors. Volunteers giving countless hours. People putting differences aside to celebrate something bigger than themselves. Community. Patriotism. Pride.

From the bottom of my heart, thank you, Wharton. Thank you for reminding all of us what can happen when a community comes together with one shared purpose.

May we never lose that spirit.
