🇺🇸 Some days become part of who we are. September 11th is one of them.
Twenty-five years later, we still remember where we were. We remember the heartbreak, the fear, the heroes—and how our country came together in the days that followed.
For a little while, we weren't strangers. We were neighbors. We checked on one another. We helped without being asked. We hugged a little tighter. We thanked our first responders. We put differences aside.
And right here in Mullica Hill, we have a place to remember.
Our community is invited to gather tonight, September 11 at 6:30 PM, at the Harrison Township 9/11 Memorial located at 18 S. Main Street for the annual Patriot Day Commemoration.
Together, we will remember the lives lost on September 11, 2001, reflect on the lasting impact of that day, and honor the dedicated first responders who serve and protect Harrison Township and communities across our nation.
Our memorial also gives us a place to stop throughout the year—to see the artifacts, read their stories and remember the lives and sacrifices they represent.
And perhaps, when we leave, we can carry one more thing with us:
Remember how we treated one another after September 11th.
Be kind. Check on your neighbor. Help someone without being asked. Thank a first responder. Put differences aside.
We can never change what happened that day, but we can choose to keep alive the way we came together afterward.
