Some closings are more than contracts and keys.
Some feel like divine appointments.
A few months ago, I received a Facebook message from one of my biscuit's aunt asking if I could call because they had found a house in Lascassas they just knew was meant to be their next home. We talked, set up a showing, wrote an offer, and it was accepted. Within days, we had their current home on the market and under contract.
Everything seemed to be falling perfectly into place.
When the first buyer for their home backed out, we regrouped and kept moving forward. Then another wonderful buyer and agent came along, and once again, things seemed to be lining up exactly as WE planned.
While I was away at a conference, I sent an extension request to the seller’s agent asking for just a couple more weeks to get us all to the closing table. Unfortunately, the extension wasn’t signed, and just like that…they lost THE house. The one they were certain was theirs.
But God.
Instead of giving up, they immediately started searching again. We lined up showings in Shelbyville, Alexandria, and Lebanon. But before we could even make it to all of them, they found the reason the Lascassas house didn’t work out.
Today, just 16 days later, they closed on their new dream home.
And if that wasn’t enough of a full-circle moment…
As I pulled into Carthage for closing, they were sitting on a bench under a beautiful tree. Mr. Eddie pointed to the courthouse poised behind them and shared that it was that very place he and his wife eloped 58 years ago.
Today, 58 years later, they bought a home directly across from the courthouse where their marriage began.
By the end of closing, tears were shed, phone numbers were exchanged with the sellers’ family, and plans were made to attend church together next week.
This business is never just about houses.
It’s about people.
It’s about timing.
It’s about relationships.
And sometimes…it’s about realizing God’s plan was better than the one we were trying so hard to hold onto.
Today was special. ❤️
