There is something about August that still makes the teacher in me come alive.

School is back in session, and I miss it. I miss setting up a classroom for a brand-new year, planning activities, buying way too many school supplies, and especially meeting the kids who would become “mine” for the next nine months. After 32 years, I guess that part of me isn’t ever going away.

Maybe that’s one reason our **Teacher of the Month** program means so much to me. It is in full swing, and we have a brand-new page this year. We need your nominations! In just a couple of weeks, we’ll get to walk into a school and celebrate one fantastic teacher and remind them that the work they do matters. Please follow our page, nominate a teacher, and help us spread the word.

And while another school year beginning makes me miss one chapter of my life, I’m pretty thankful for the chapter I’m in now.

My grands are getting back into their routines, which means I’m ready for Friday night sleepovers, soccer games, campouts, and all the ordinary little moments that somehow end up being the really good ones.

Real estate has given me another way to do something I have always loved—help people. So far this year, **16 clients have trusted me to help them find home**, and I don’t take that lightly. Some of those people found me because a past client, friend, or family member said, “Call Kathy.” Every referral is personal to me because you’re putting someone you care about in my hands. Thank you for trusting me enough to do that.

I may not be setting up a classroom this August, but I’m still teaching, helping, cheering people on, and hopefully making a difference here and there.

Turns out, some of the best parts of who we were get to come right along with us into who we’re becoming. ❤️
