☀️ Extreme Heat Warning for Muskogee! ☀️
Dangerously hot temperatures are expected today, with highs around 103°F and heat index values that could feel as hot as 115–117°F. Please take extra precautions if you plan to be outdoors.
🌡️ Heat Safety Tips:
💧 Drink plenty of water—even if you don't feel thirsty.
🏠 Stay in air-conditioned buildings whenever possible.
👕 Wear lightweight, light-colored clothing.
😎 Avoid strenuous outdoor activities between 11 AM and 6 PM.
🌳 Take frequent breaks in the shade if you must work outside.
🚗 Never leave children or pets in a parked vehicle.
👵 Check on elderly neighbors, family members, and anyone without reliable air conditioning.
🐾 Make sure your pets have plenty of fresh water and a cool place to rest.
⚠️ Know the Signs of Heat Illness:
• Heat Exhaustion: Heavy sweating, dizziness, nausea, weakness, headache.
• Heat Stroke: High body temperature, confusion, fainting, hot dry skin, or loss of consciousness. Call 911 immediately—this is a medical emergency.
