Twenty-five years ago, our world changed in a matter of moments.
We remember the lives that were lost, the families who never got one more hug, one more phone call, one more ordinary day. We remember the first responders who ran toward danger when every instinct said to run away, the service members who answered the call in the years that followed, and the countless acts of courage, kindness, and humanity that rose from unimaginable heartbreak.
So much has changed in 25 years. Children have grown up. Families have grown older. A new generation now learns about September 11 as history. But for so many, it will never feel like history.
It is a name. A face. A voice. A story. A moment frozen in time.
Today, we pause not only to remember how much was lost, but to honor the strength, compassion, and unity that followed. May we never become too busy to remember them, too divided to remember how we once stood together, or too far removed from that day to understand what their lives and sacrifices meant.
25 years later, we remember. We honor. We will never forget.
