As a home inspector I have been asked this question more times than I can count……..”I’m buying a new construction home, should I even bother with a home inspection? The builder will fix anything I find anyways right?” The answer is ABSOLUTELY you should get a home inspection. The builder might fix things you find but how well and in depth are you looking at all the aspects of the home? I have found many things in a new construction home inspection that have been significant issues and warrant repairs. I have found broken trusses, faulty wiring, clogged main plumbing lines, damaged shingles, and much more. Just because it’s a new construction home it does not mean it may not have issues. Always get a home inspection no matter what the age of the home may be.
