Today we honor and remember William "Bill" Everett, Jr. (October 26, 1945 – July 28, 2026).

Bill began his real estate career in 1978 and went on to establish the very first REMAX office in Charleston in 1986, laying the foundation for the presence we're proud to carry forward today. He remained active in real estate with REMAX Southern Shores for the full 40 years that followed.

Beyond his professional legacy, Bill was known for his love of basketball, his devotion to his family, and his big heart for rescue animals. He will be deeply missed by his REMAX family and the countless clients and colleagues whose careers and lives he touched.

We are grateful to continue the work Bill started with the support and broker leadership of his wife, Vel Everett, and their actively licensed son, Mason Thurber. Our thoughts remain with their entire family.
