The Myrtle Beach Boardwalk will receive a facelift in the coming months, with construction beginning on Tuesday, March 1. The Myrtle Beach Boardwalk extends along the oceanfront, from 16th Avenue North to First Avenue South, and opened in May 2010. The refurbishment is the replacement of the wooden decking with a longer lasting, wood-like surface. The boardwalk itself will remain open, with sections being closed as work is completed in phases. The first phase begins near Plyler Park, 1000 North Ocean Boulevard, by Moe Moons, and will move south to Ninth Avenue North. An estimated timeline will be announced based on initial assessments.
