This week we wrapped up energy verification and performance testing at Cedar Village at the Locks in Shelton, CT.

This 129-unit riverfront multifamily community, developed by Midland Development and Contracting, is now leasing and welcoming residents.
Cedar Village at the Locks is also the largest project our company has completed to date, making this an exciting milestone for our team.

We just wrapped up HERS Ratings and Energy Star Certification on this development in Monroe CT. The builder was able to unlock $90,000 in rebates through Energize CT’s energy efficiency residential new construction program.

Happy to see the progression and completion of another outstanding project. This custom home just received its final HERS rating, and the results speak volumes.

This is the best blower door results we have personally tested. What it means?
Excellent airtightness, supporting comfort, durability and energy performance.

✅ HERS Index score: 0. What does that mean? Just like golf, the lower the score the better.
This home creates as much energy as it consumes over the course of a year. How is that possible?

✅ Because it is equipped with a high-efficiency heat pump HVAC system from Enertech. This cold-climate ready air source heat pump ensures comfort and efficiency.

✅ Tesla solar roof shingles. Renewable energy generation integrated seamlessly with the architecture.

What makes your home comfortable?

Here in CT, we are happy to be working with some top builders and HVAC professionals on HERS Rated and Certified Energy Star homes.

This builder and his HVAC contractor are specificity impressive because they are consistently achieving sub‑1.5 ACH on the blower door and sub 1.5% on the duct leakage test.

How are they doing it? Nothing to special, but to name a few.

Best part, this house is completed using funding from the Build For CT Program which is an incentive for high quality affordable housing across the state. Proof houses can be affordable and energy efficient.
