Erin this morning continues to move more on the western side of the forecast cone. Each nudge to the west increases the effects of the storm on the East Coast. The OBX looks to see the greatest impacts, winds over 50mph, tidal flooding and major coastal erosion.

By Thursday morning waves could be close to 20’ in the OBX coastal waters. Major concern for NC 12 over wash and damage cutting off residents, a main reason for the mandatory Hatteras Island evacs already in place. Monitor carefully in coming days.
