Held at the Soundside Event Site in Nags Head, this family-friendly fall festival brings together local seafood, coastal culture, live music and the people who make the Outer Banks fishing community special. Come hungry for fresh seafood from local restaurants, then wander through the Fishing Village to meet watermen and learn more about the boats, gear and traditions behind the catch.

The day also features live music, local artisans and vendors, educational exhibits, family-friendly activities and plenty of waterfront atmosphere. It's part seafood feast, part coastal education and part Outer Banks celebration—with a little dancing in between.

Meet the Watermen

The main stage keeps things lively throughout the day with a lineup of regional bands and performers. Bring a lawn chair or blanket, settle in and enjoy the soundside setting.

Educational exhibits and demonstrations highlight North Carolina's seafood industry, maritime heritage and coastal environment.

With activities for all ages—including the festival's famously fun Mullet Toss—the Seafood Festival makes for an easygoing day out for the whole crew.

The festival is outdoors and takes place rain or shine. On-site parking is not available, so plan to use the festival's free shuttle service from designated off-site parking areas.

Duck Jazz Festival

The Town of Duck brings jazz to the Duck Town Park annually in early October. This event is non-ticketed and free to the public. Food and drinks are available to purchase from town eateries and chairs are available for rent. Attendees may also bring food, coolers, chairs, blankets, and well-behaved dogs.

No beach umbrellas or tents are permitted at the event. The Duck Jazz Festival is held rain or shine.

Come out and join us at Jockey's Ridge for two days of kite-flying fun (Fri-Sat) for the whole family. Enjoy massive display kites flying high, including a 100-foot octopus, an 80-foot panda, and a 50-foot fish. And participate in FREE stunt and power kite lessons given by pros. Throughout the event, come watch world-class displays of artistry and skill with kite flying set to music, synchronized performances, and more!

We will be hosting our annual Speedy Sprout Sprint at 11 am on Saturday! Bring your little ones to race and see who can get their kite the highest. The top three sprinters will win a prize from Kitty Hawk Kites!
