The number is $47,800. It's printed on the policy she pays for. Thirty minutes and a supervisor to get your adjuster to say it, because knowing your own limit is apparently step one of "maxing it out."
In a week. On a 3 bedroom Airbnb. In Utah.

If they won't give you your number, ask again. Then ask for a supervisor. It's not their number.

It blows insurance companies minds that its so easy for a displaced family to find a local housing company when the family is in need of housing. All it takes is for them to Google it, we pop right up and we answer the phones when they call us.

A family loses their home, they pick a housing company they actually want to work with, and the first thing they hear is: you can't use them, they're not our preferred vendor.
That's not a rule. That's a bully tactic.
Your policy pays for reasonable temporary housing. It doesn't say "reasonable temporary housing, but only from the list we hand you." You get to choose where your family sleeps. The carrier's preferred housing vendors are exactly that....preferred by the carrier — negotiated rates, existing contracts, a relationship that benefits their bottom line. Not yours.
Ask for the policy language that says you must use their vendor. They won't have it. Because it isn't there.

This State Farm supervisor does not like that we are an independent housing company. She would prefer the policyholders to work with her own preferred vendors so she could bully families more effectively. Sorry ma'am, no can do. Thats not girls girl behavior and does not give diva energy 💅
