The Pacific Club: AKA Home of the Now-Infamous “No Influencers” Sign 🪧

You’ve probably seen the sign, but do you know the history behind the building?
Sitting at the foot of Main Street near Nantucket Harbor, the Pacific Club has witnessed centuries of island history, from its beginnings as a whaling merchant’s counting house to its days as a private club for retired sea captains.

Built in the 1770s, the historic brick building survived the Great Fire of 1846 and later became a gathering place for 24 retired whaling captains. Today, it remains one of downtown Nantucket’s most recognizable architectural landmarks. ⚓
