Today, all the hard work has paid off. From listing, staging, photographing, and open house; followed by negotiation, contract signing, inspection, appraisal, and closing, my clients and I worked hard and worked together, and we made solid progresses on every step. We finally successfully closed their sweet home at a great price.
However, the difficult part for me is not the closing itself, it is the time to say goodbye to my very dear friends who are moving away. Of course, we will still see each other often thanks to the modern technologies, and we will still share each other’s lives through WeChat. They can still tell me their amazing life stories, and I will still discuss with them my new discoveries in life. No matter how much we can do remotely, I will still miss them so much. I will miss that when we need a quick small favor from each other, we can easily stop by; I will miss sharing their newly discovered strange snacks; I will miss their cute small arguments when they disagree with each other; I will miss…
But I am grateful that I had the opportunity of knowing such great people, spending time with them and their friends; I am so glad that I helped them sell their home, facilitated their moving, and made the difficult moving process a little easier. I am so happy for them that they moved on under their own terms and followed through with their decisions. I know they will be missing us as well.
Billy Joel in “Say Goodbye to Hollywood” sings, “Life is a series of hellos and goodbyes.” Throughout life, we always meet new people, know a bit more about them, and if we are lucky, we make some good friends. This is one of the most exciting adventures in life, but of course, the unavoidable part is we have to say goodbye to our dear friends; sometimes just temporarily and sometimes unfortunately forever. Most of the time, we probably do not even realize how short but great time we have spent with our friends until the moment we have to say goodbye. Life with good times and good people are just too short. We should always be happy and be grateful that we have the opportunities to make a difference to our friends’ lives and create beautiful memories for all of us. That makes life amazing and worth living.
